Join the Community.

Thank you for your interest in the FYiC CoP. We're excited that you are here.

Join as a general member, working group member, leadership advisor, ally, or partner. There is no cost to join and no membership fees. If you feel called to sponsor our work, you’re welcome to do so. Read the descriptions below to learn more.

  • You’re part of the community. You join when you can, whether that's coming to events, contributing to and/or reading our zine, or staying in the loop through email updates. No commitment required.

  • You help shape specific projects or initiatives. This could include co-creating events, developing resources, supporting advocacy efforts, or contributing your voice to targeted change-making activities. Working groups usually meet regularly for a set period of time (e.g., the second Tuesday of every month from 6:30-8:00pm).

  • You provide vision and guidance. Leadership advisors offer lived experience expertise, strategic insight, and reciprocal mentorship to the CEO to help guide the direction of the FYiC CoP. This role may include feedback/feed forward, decision-making, planning, and representing the community in broader systems change work.

  • You collaborate with us. Partners are individuals or organizations who may or may not have lived experience in care, but are actively working with the FYiC CoP on shared initiatives, research, policy change, or service improvement. Partners contribute resources, knowledge, and capacity toward our collective goals and are committed to co-creating solutions alongside those with lived experience.

  • You walk alongside us. Allies are people who support the mission of the FYiC CoP without having lived experience in care. You might be a service provider, educator, policy maker, researcher, or community member committed to amplifying our voices and supporting meaningful change.

  • You are an individual or organization who helps make our shared work possible. To help advance the work of the FYiC CoP, sponsors may contribute financial, in-kind, or strategic support, as well as time, expertise, or tools. Sponsors invest in initiatives that strengthen lived-experience leadership, improve system collaboration, and contribute to meaningful, long-term change. Your support enables projects, events, research, and capacity-building opportunities that benefit the FYiC community and broader society.
