    Provides information, resources (e.g., scholarships, grants), and services available to help people feel empowered as they transition from care.

  • BC Fuel Tax Program

    Reduce transportation costs (e.g., up to 25% discount on ICBC insurance and a non-fundable $500 tax credit per year) for qualifying individuals.

  • Canadian Disability Tax Credit

    A non-refundable tax credit to reduce the amount of income tax Canadians with disabilities and/or their families and caregivers would have to pay.

  • Crime Victim Assistance Program

    Counselling for victims of crime. If you were a victim or witness of a crime as a child, you have a right to access CVAP benefits throughout your lifetime.

  • Canada 211

    Connects people with the information and services to enhance Canada’s infrastructure and enable people to fully engage in their communities.

  • Canada 988

    Connect to a crisis responder without judgement.

    This service is available 24/7 365 days a year.

  • Federation of BC Youth in Care Networks

    A youth-driven, peer-based, non-profit dedicated to improving the lives of people in and from care in BC between the ages of 14 and 28.

  • First People's Cultural Council

    The Indigenous Arts Program includes categories such as Arts Administrator Internships and Mentorships.

  • Indigenous Youth Internship Program

    A one-year internship that places Indigenous youth (ages 19–29) in B.C. government ministries and Indigenous organizations.

  • Indspire

    A national Indigenous-led charity that invests in the education, leadership, and career development of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis people.

  • Provincial Tuition Waiver Program

    Waives tuition and eligible fees for eligible former youth in care studying at approved B.C. post-secondary institutions or trades training providers.

  • Registered Disability Bond

    Money the government deposits into the RDSPs of low- and modest-income Canadians with disabilities (up to $1,000/year; up to $20,000 lifetime).

  • Registered Disability Savings Plan

    A long-term savings plan for individuals approved for the Disability Tax Credit. Contributions can be made until age 59.

  • Residential Historical Abuse Program (Counselling)

    For people who experienced sexual abuse while living in MCFD care or a contracted resource (contact your local Health Authority).

  • SAJE (Strengthening Abilities and Journeys of Empowerment)

    Supports for eligible young people transitioning from government care in British Columbia, available until age 27.

  • Student Aid BC

    Financial assistance and non-repayable grants (e.g., supports for students with disabilities, grants for people from foster care).

  • Skwachàys Lodge Artist Residency

    Six-month (or longer) residencies for Indigenous artists in Vancouver, with access to studio, housing, and gallery space.

  • Telus Internet for Good

    Low-cost internet is available for eligible individuals (e.g., families, seniors, people from foster care.)

  • Telus Mobility For Good

    Provides low-cost mobile phone plans for eligible people in and from foster care in Canada.

  • Telus My e-Health

    Access doctors, psychologists, counsellors, or dietitians from your phone.

  •  Zine and Heard

    A magazine dedicated to people in and from foster care.
